Members of our clan have been found in reports to Rome from their troops stationed in areas now known as England, as far back as 79 A.D. 	The first mention of our Clan seems to have been from the original five Clans of the Caledonia, recorded by Josephus, the famous Roman historian who was with Hadrian during the attempts to conquer all of Britain. 	Dunkeld Abbey may have been established by the followers of St. Columba as early as the 6th century AD..		National Tartan day was established as April 6 of each year by Senate Resolution 155 and House Resolution 41, US Congress, 2005. 	Origins of the Scots
	Scotland as we know it today evolved from the 9th to the 12th Centuries AD. Most casual readers of history are aware that the Picts and the Scots combined to form Alba c.850 AD, and Alba evolved into Scotland - but not everyone is aware how this happened and what the other components of what became Scotland were.
